About Andrew Rasheed
Andrew Rasheed is a Vancouver-based human resources expert. He currently works for Manning Elliott LLP, a chartered professional accounting firm specializing in tax planning. After joining the firm in 2008, Rasheed distinguished himself by focusing on best practices in the workplace. He emphasized the importance of diversity, work-life balance - or “work-life fit” as he likes to call it - and employee advancement. His hard work and emphasis on best practices were rewarded when he accepted an award on behalf of Manning Elliott LLP for Canada’s Best Small and Medium Employers by the Globe and Mail in 2015.
During his tenure, Rasheed has emphasized the need for a less formal and strict working environment for employers and employees alike to flourish. He has focused on recruiting and retaining top talent for the mid-sized company to compete with larger, national firms. This has led him to tailor the experiences of Manning Elliott employees to fit their needs and lifestyles, especially those employees supporting families. To ensure the implementation of best practices within the company, he has focused on diversifying, allowing flexible work hours and arrangements - including working from home and/or adjusting work hours to fit the needs of the lifestyle of each employee - benefits, professional development, and opportunities for career advancement.
Going forward, Rasheed intends to continue his focus on promoting good relationships between employers and employees. He stresses the importance of listening to the employee experience and doing whatever possible to cater to their needs, freeing them to create quality work in a timely fashion. He believes in the principle of allowing workers to thrive in order for the company to thrive, and therefore serve the needs of its clients better.
In 2004, Rasheed was the manager of administrative services in the continuing studies department of Langara College.
